Shortly before 1 p.m., Lunenburg County District RCMP, Fire and EHS responded to a call about a 12-year-old boy who was swimming and went missing.

Preliminary investigation indicated that at approximately 12:45 p.m.

,, the boy went swimming in the LaHave River with three other youths when he went under water and did not return to shore.

A Canadian Coast Guard auxiliary vessel, Department of Natural Resources helicopter and the RCMP Underwater Recovery Team have been activated to assist.
