RCMP investigate pedestrian and car collision, Pictou, N.S.

A pedestrian was sent to hospital following a collision with a vehicle on Monday evening. On December 9th, 2013 at approximately 5:30 p.m, Pictou County RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a car on Denoon Street in Pictou.

On December 9th, 2013 at approximately 5:30 p.m, Pictou County RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian being struck by a car on Denoon Street in Pictou.

The 19-year-old female pedestrian from Pictou was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. She was later released. The 35-year-old male driver of the Toyota Corolla was not injured. The investigation is continuing.

During this busy time of year, especially with changing weather conditions, motorists are reminded to be attentive when driving. Pedestrians also have a duty to use caution when crossing roadways. Road safety is a shared responsibility.
