RCMP Investigate Reports of a Suspicious Male in Lakeside

Halifax District RCMP is investigating a report of a suspicious male in Lakeside.

At approximately 6:30 p.m. yesterday, two young girls were approached by a man in a truck on North Green Rd. in Lakeside. The man slowed his truck and approached the girls, ages 11 and 12, then chased them on foot for a short distance. The girls hid near a house and the man left in his vehicle.

The man was driving a dark coloured pick-up truck with a regular cab and tinted windows. The truck didn’t have a licence plate on it at the time of the incident. He was alone in the truck and is described as a white male, with short brown hair, around 30 years old, wearing a black jacket and black sunglasses.

Police are asking anyone who sees suspicious activity in their neighbourhood to contact Halifax District RCMP or Halifax Regional Police immediately at (902) 490-5020. Citizens can also contact Nova Scotia Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by texting TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (274637), or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca. Calls to Crime Stoppers are not taped or traced and if police make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash reward from $50 – $2000.
