RCMP Investigate Shooting on Hwy 7

Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning.

At approximately 1:36 a.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of a patient admitted with a gunshot wound at Dartmouth General Hospital. A preliminary investigation has determined a 27-year-old man was shot near a residence on Highway 7 in East Preston. He sustained non-life threatening injuries and underwent treatment.

The investigation is being led by the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with assistance of the RCMP Forensic Identification Section. Officers are in the early stages of the investigation.
