RCMP Investigate Shooting on Hwy 7

Police are currently investigating a shooting that occurred early this morning.

At approximately 1:36 a.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of a patient admitted with a gunshot wound at Dartmouth General Hospital. A preliminary investigation has determined a 27-year-old man was shot near a residence on Highway 7 in East Preston. He sustained non-life threatening injuries and underwent treatment.

The investigation is being led by the DSC_8987_edit_edit_editGeneral Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division with assistance of the RCMP Forensic Identification Section. Officers are in the early stages of the investigation.
