RCMP investigate structure fire, Annapolis County, N.S.

RCMP are investigating after a structure fire in Cornwallis was deemed suspicious.

This morning, 6:56 a.m., Annapolis RCMP responded to a report of a structure fire situated on the old Cornwallis Military Base.

Several fire departments were called in to fight the fire. The building sustained considerable damage as a result of the fire. The fire has been deemed suspicious in origin and police are being assisted by the Provincial Fire Investigator’s Office.

This particular building, which is owned by the Annapolis Basin Conference Center houses the Camp Acadia Sea Cadets during the summer months.

Investigators are asking anyone who might have seen suspicious activity in the area to contact them.
