RCMP investigating death in Margaree River, Inverness County, N.S.

RCMP are investigating after a man was found deceased in the Margaree River near Portree.

Earlier this evening, 7:50 p.m., RCMP received a report of a missing man.

The man was last seen fishing at 3:00 p.m. and did not return. Police, along with local fire departments and Ground Search and Rescue teams conducted a search. RCMP officers found the 70-year-old man in the Margaree River deceased.

Police do not suspect foul play at this time. The matter remains under investigation. The man’s name is not being released at this time.
