RCMP investigate threat received by student, Cambridge, N.S.

February 25, 2014, Cambridge, Nova Scotia . . . Kings District RCMP is currently investigating a threat received by a student at the Central Kings Rural High School (CKRHS).

At approximately 11:55 a.m., Kings District RCMP received a report that a student at the CKRHS had received a threatening text from another person. As a precaution, the CKRHS and the adjacent Cambridge Elementary school were immediately locked down by school officials. RCMP have several resources at the schools and a Police Service dog is assisting with the investigation. Police do not believe the suspect(s) ever entered the school property.

The schools are now in ‘Hold and Secure’ mode which is initiated when a threat is not inside the building. Regular classroom routines have resumed.

The investigation is continuing.
