RCMP are investigating a single vehicle collision in Ingonish.

At approximately 8:30 p.m. yesterday, Ingonish Beach RCMP responded to a single vehicle collision in a driveway.

Preliminary investigation revealed that an automobile collided with a tree while exiting a residential driveway located on Cabot Trail Road. The 17 year-old female driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was transported to hospital with the assistance of Life Flight.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
