RCMP investigating additional incident of racial graffiti in Hammonds Plains

Friday, October 1, 2010 Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), N.S…. Members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), Halifax District are investigating an additional case of racial graffiti.  This most recent incident happened at a playground on Kingswood Drive in Hammonds Plains, NS.  This is the same location as an similar incident that happened last week.

 
On Thursday at 1:30 PM, an HRM employee called Halifax District RCMP to report offensive racial words carved into a wooden play structure at the park.  In this most recent case, the racial overtures were directed toward the Jewish and African Canadian communities.  This is the fifth incident investigated by Halifax District RCMP since Sept. 21, 2010.  Information on the other files can be found on the Nova Scotia RCMP website, which is http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/ns/news-nouvelles/index-eng.htm.  All of the recent graffiti files are now being turned over to the RCMP/HRP Integrated General Investigative Section (GIS).
