RCMP are investigating theft of vehicles and subsequent collision.

At approximately 2:00 a.m. on August 25th, Digby RCMP attended the Digby General Hospital where a 19-year-old man was being treated for serious injuries.

Investigators later learned the man was involved in a non-reported, hit-and-run collision to a vacant commercial building in the St. Bernard area in a vehicle believed stolen from the Weymouth area.

The suspects then used a vehicle stolen from the Digby area to transport the injured male to hospital. The 19-year-old has since been transported to the Kentville Hospital and is being treated for serious non life-threatening injuries.

A 17-year-old male has been remanded in custody for Breach of Probation and Breach of Undertaking and is charged with Theft of Motor Vehicle (x 2) and Public Mischief.

Charges against the 19-year-old man are expected. The 17-year-old male will be appearing in Comeauville Provincial Court on Monday. The police investigation is continuing.
