RCMP investigating vehicle-pedestrian collision

Lunenburg District RCMP is investigating a vehicle-pedestrian collision that occurred in Lunenburg.

Yesterday, at approximately 9:45 a.m., Lunenburg District RCMP, fire and EHS responded to a report of a collision on Bluenose Dr. in Lunenburg. RCMP officers learned that a Jeep Wagoneer left the roadway, struck iron railings, masonry, lamp poles and a pedestrian on a walkway. 

The pedestrian, a 52-year-old Halifax man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS.

The driver of the Jeep, a 78-year-old Lunenburg man, suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital by EHS. The passenger of the vehicle, a 76-year-old Lunenburg woman, did not suffer injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
