RCMP are on scene of a fatal snowmobile crash by Fountain Lake in Cumberland County.

At approximately 8:50 p.m. Oxford RCMP assisted by Westchester Fire and Emergency Health Services responded to a snowmobile crash on a groomed trail near Fountain Lake.

Police can confirm that a 41-year-old male from the Halifax area has died. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
