Throughout the year, the Nova Scotia RCMP Federal Marine Operations will be teaming up with Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the Maritime Security Enforcement Team (MSET) based out of Quebec. Patrols will be made in the Atlantic Ocean along the Coast of Nova Scotia.

The Federal Policing’s core functions include;

  • investigating drugs and organized crime, economic crime, and terrorist criminal activity,
  •        enforce Federal statutes,
  •        secure Canada’s border,
  • conduct international capacity building, liaison and peacekeeping.

CBSA is responsible for providing integrated border services that support national security and public safety priorities and facilitate the free flow of persons and goods, including animals and plants, that meet all requirements under the program legislation.

By teaming up with our partners from CBSA and MSET, we strengthen our abilities to protect our coast line from illegal activities such as drug or human smuggling and illegal entry into Canada.

Patrols will be visible during the year and anyone who sees suspicious activity on our waterways is encouraged to phone the RCMP at 1-800-803-7267 or CBSA at 1-888-502-9060.
