RCMP readies for Wolfville Homecoming, urges public to celebrate responsibly

Kings District RCMP is expecting a festive atmosphere as homecoming activities occur this weekend in Wolfville.

Kings District RCMP is encouraging the responsible consumption of alcohol and cannabis by those who choose to participate in these types of activities. Often during homecoming weekend RCMP officers are called to loud parties, incidents of underaged drinking, public intoxication, impaired driving and mischief.

Please plan responsibly if you are planning on consuming any alcohol or cannabis and follow the following tip:

  • Watch your drink and never accept a drink from a stranger;
  • Never drive while impaired by drugs or alcohol;
  • Eat something both before, and while, drinking;
  • Drink water between drinks;
  • Do not drink too quickly;
  • Be aware of your environment and do not take risks;
  • Have a plan for your activities;
  • Know your personal tolerance level;
  • Look out for one another and stay with a group

Kings District RCMP will be in the Wolfville area and will be enforcing all applicable bylaws, provincial and criminal offences while on patrol in the community.
