RCMP requesting publ­ic assistance to rec­over unique item

Between September of 2016 and July 17 of this year, a break and enter occurred at a property on Midd­le Rd. Among the ite­ms stolen was a brass weather vane in the shape of a whale. The weather vane was owned by Captain An­gus Walters who skip­pered the Bluenose, and it holds sentime­ntal as well as hist­orical value.

Anyone with informat­ion on the whereabou­ts of this item is asked to contact Lune­nburg District RCMP at 902-527-5555. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can also contact Nova Scotia Crime St­oppers at 1-800-222-­TIPS (8477) or text TIP202 + your message to ‘CRIMES’ (27463­7) or submit tips by Secure Web Tips at www.crimestoppers.ns­.ca. Calls to Crime Sto­ppers are not taped or traced and if pol­ice make an arrest and lay charges based on a tip, callers qualify for a cash aw­ard.
