RCMP to participate in Exercise Frontier Sentinel, Pictou County, N.S.

Members of the public are advised that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) will be participating in Exercise Frontier Sentinel 2013, a training exercise in and around the Pictou County area from October 29th to 31st, 2013.

Members of the public are advised that the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) will be participating in Exercise Frontier Sentinel 2013, a training exercise in and around the Pictou County area from October 29th to 31st, 2013.

Exercise Frontier Sentinel 2013 is led by Joint Task Force Atlantic and will involve all three elements of the Canadian Armed Forces including the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy and Royal Canadian Air Force, in addition to the United States Armed Forces and several other government departments.

The RCMP will be joining members of the Canadian Forces in this exercise. The public will notice a number of first responders in uniform and an increase in RCMP vehicle traffic in the community. This will include a number of members from the local detachment as well as members in unmarked vehicles and the use of the RCMP Mobile Command Post. The RCMP want to assure residents that all necessary safety precautions have been taken in the planning of this exercise and we want to thank the public in advance for their co-operation.
