RCMP warn motorists to use caution, Halifax, N.S.

Over the last few hours, temperatures have fallen and roadways throughout Nova Scotia have become slippery. Police are advising motorists to use caution out on the roads tonight, especially the 100 series highways due to icy and snowy road conditions.

Over the last few hours, temperatures have fallen and roadways throughout Nova Scotia have become slippery.

Police are advising motorists to use caution out on the roads tonight, especially the 100 series highways due to icy and snowy road conditions.

Police have responded to numerous motor vehicle crashes this evening.

Police would also like to remind the motoring public to adjust their driving habits and be mindful in the change of road conditions. In order to safely arrive at your destination, please slow down, allow extra time to reach your destination and allow extra stopping distance between your vehicle and the vehicle in front of you. Drivers are also asked to be alert to emergency personnel, reduce your speed and move over to another lane if available.

In Lunenburg County, at 7:30 p.m. , a RCMP police vehicle was involved in a collision as the officer was stopped to help another motorist. No one was injured. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
