Monday, June 29, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – Residents are invited to join us for the grand opening of the new Sackville Splash Pad this Tuesday, June 30.
The Halifax Regional Municipality is pleased to report that work on the splash pad at Sackville Kinsmen Park finished last week and the new facility is ready for visitors, just in time for the swimming season!
All municipal beaches, splash pads, spray pools and the outdoor pool at the Halifax Common open for the summer season on Tuesday.
The new facility, located at 71 First Lake Dr., was jointly funded by the municipality, the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness, and the Kinsmen Club of Sackville. It includes two sections – one with gentle sprays suitable for toddlers and younger children, and another with stronger sprays for the older kids. The facility is fully accessible with asphalt paths and two picnic shelters in the adjacent park area.
The grand opening is at noon on Tuesday. Bring the family and enjoy an afternoon outdoors to kick off the summer. For more information on recreational water facilities in your community, please visit http://www.halifax.ca/rec/Beaches.php.
