Aug 8 2011: At 10:10 a.m., a 24-year-old man turned himself into at Police
Headquarters where he was arrested without incident. He is scheduled to
appear in Halifax Provincial Court on September 13 to face charges of
theft, possession of stolen property, dangerous operation of a motor
vehicle and assault with a weapon.
 

 

On 20110806 at 3:16 pm the HRP responded to a Robbery complaint that took place in the 200 block of Lacewood Drive. Information was received that a male suspect took a quantity of money and was confronted by a waitress to put the money back after which he exited the establishment and went to his vehicle in the parking lot. Patrons attempted prevent the male from leaving by standing in front of the vehicle and one male jumped on the hood of the vehicle. The vehicle left the area, with the male on the hood and proceeded Southbound on Lacewood Drive for a distance of approximately 1 km.  The suspect then stopped the vehicle allowing the citizen to get off and then fled the area. There were no reported injuries for the incident and the suspect made off with an undetermined amount of money.  The matter is still under investigation with charges anticipated when the suspect is located.
