Road Closure – Cogswell Street – CIBC Run for the Cure

Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Cogswell Street in Halifax will be temporarily closed to traffic on Sunday, Oct. 5, for the CIBC Run for the Cure.

Starting at 6 a.m., Cogswell Street will close between North Park Street and Robie Street to prepare for the fundraiser, which is being held at the Emera Oval. There will be no parking on that stretch during the closure.

Motorists should expect traffic delays on the streets around the Halifax Common during and after the event, and are encouraged to use alternative routes, if possible. Cogswell Street will reopen at about 1 p.m. on Sunday.

The CIBC Run for the Cure is an annual event taking place in 64 locations across the country. It features a five-kilometre and one-kilometre walk or run to raise funds for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The run is the largest single-day, volunteer-led event in Canada in support of the breast cancer cause.
