Road Closure – Sackville Street

Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that a block of Sackville Street in Halifax will be closed to traffic starting Friday, Oct. 3, to facilitate ongoing construction of the Nova Centre project.

Starting at 6 a.m. on Friday, Sackville Street will close between Market Street and Grafton Street. That block will remain closed to traffic until approximately Saturday, Oct. 11. There will be a detour in place for motorists and cyclists.

Pedestrians will still be able to use the sidewalk on the south side of Sackville Street throughout the closure. However, short-term sporadic sidewalk closures may be necessary when hoisting activities are underway. Traffic control personnel will be onsite to direct pedestrians when these closures occur.

The municipality apologizes in advance for any inconvenience this closure or the ongoing construction may cause.
