Motor Vehicle Accident
Brightwood Ave/ Victoria Rd., Dartmouth

At 6:05 p.m. an HRP East Division patrol unit passed a motorcycle being driven at an excessive speed. The unit turned around to initiate a traffic stop but lost sight of the motorcycle. A short time later while checking the area it was located but the motorcyclist immediately fled, lost control and crashed. No other vehicles or persons were involved. The motorcyclist was transported to hospital,  treated for minor injuries and released.

A 27 year old Dartmouth man has been charged with possession of a stolen license plate (possession of stolen property under $5000) plus he is facing several additional summary offence charges under the Motor Vehicle Act. He will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.

Robbery
Devonshire Ave / Albert St., Halifax

At 1:42 a.m. a taxi driver at this location reported that 3 males got out of his cab and refused to pay the fare. The males then demanded money and threatened the driver. When another cab arrived on scene the 3 males fled. No injuries resulted. Suspects all wearing black clothing. The matter remains under investigation.

Break and Enter
5600 Block of Fenwick St., Halifax

At 2:29 a.m. the victim called HRP reporting that she woke up and found an unidentified person wearing a mask, hoodie style jacket and striped pants standing in her living room. The person fled immediately. No injuries resulted. HRP's K9 attempted a track with negative results. HRP's Forensic Identification Unit was called out to process the scene and the matter will be followed up by the HRP/RCMP Integrated Criminal Investigative Division.

Robbery
Lakefront Dr., Dartmouth

At 2:33 a.m. a pizza delivery driver was delivering a pizza at this location and was confronted by two males. One of the suspects produced a knife and demanded the pizza. The victim threw the pizza at the two suspects, then the armed suspect swung his knife at the victim resulting in a cut to the drivers hand. The suspects then fled and the victim drove himself to the hospital where he received treatment for a minor stab wound to his hand and was released. The suspects may have been driving in a black jeep. The matter remains under investigation.

Hit and Run with Injuries
Somerset St., Dartmouth

A 2:30 a.m. HRP was advised that there had been a verbal altercation at a party which spilled out on to the street. The altercation ended when the driver of a grey or gold coloured mini van or SUV travelled through a group of pedestrians striking and injuring two of them and then fleeing the scene. Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The rear window and a side window of the suspect vehicle may be smashed out and there may be blood on the outside of the vehicle. The matter remains under investigation.
