Investigators from the HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigation
Section (GIS) have concluded the investigation into a robbery last week.
On Friday at 11:05 a.m., police responded to a robbery at the CIBC
located at 1809 Barrington Street and learned that a man entered the
bank, demanded cash and fled with an undisclosed amount of money. As a
result of a picture of the suspect that was released to the media and
the public on Friday, investigators received information as to his
identity. On July 31, GIS was contacted by Codiac RCMP who advised that
the suspect was located deceased in Moncton, New Brunswick and that the
death is not believed to be suspicious.
Investigators are not looking for any more people in this case and
given that the suspect is deceased, the investigation will be concluded.
