Safe to swim in Northwest Arm after wastewater advisory lifted

Following a successful wastewater system repair, Halifax Water is advising the public that the recommendation that people and pets avoid contact with water in the Northwest Arm is no longer in effect.

We have continued to provide updates to the applicable federal, provincial, and municipal entities regarding this incident.

Thank you to our customers who worked with us to help protect the environment by temporarily reducing their water use and wastewater flows.

We apologize for any inconvenience this necessary infrastructure repair work may have caused.

To ensure the safety of our communities and our staff, please maintain a safe distance when Halifax Water staff or contractors are working in your area.
