scotch naturals: eco-friendly, non-toxic, chic nail polish

scotch naturals: eco-friendly, non-toxic, chic nail polish

Oh how I love a great, natural find that keeps a mama looking chic while using non-toxic products! Remember Hopscotch Kids nail polish for children? Well, Scotch Naturals is the celeb loved grown up brand of natural, non-toxic nail polish available in a beautiful array of 17 colors. Just like Hopscotch Kids, Scotch Naturals is salon quality polish that is water-based and free of the harsh chemicals found in most solvent-based polishes. It’s designed to nourish and strengthen nails with repeated use, it is non-yellowing, and requires no base or top coat.

The first thing I did when I received my polishes for review, was open up a bottle to smell it while still in the car! A definite no-no with other nail polishes – the smell would have instantly given headaches all around. But Scotch nail polish has very little odor. It actually smells similar to art paints and nothing remotely close to solvent based polishes.  It doesn’t contain any toluene, dibutyl phthelate, formaldehyde, acetone, and heavy metals.

I’ve tried a few different colors and my favorite is Highland Fling, especially for the summer! It’s a coral/peachie/orangie creme color that I’m pretty sure is universally flattering on every skintone.

It applies really nicely like other salon brands I have {minus the stink!} and it dries incredibly fast!! Scotch recommends two coats, and no base coat or top coat is necessary. You don’t need a base coat because Scotch actually helps improve your nails over time, and you don’t need a top coat to keep it shiny because you can BUFF your nails {with nail polish on} to make them super shiny again! More instructions here. You can see in my pic above how shin Scotch is on it’s own without a top coat. {Don’t mind my wrinkly hands, I swear I’m 28….my sister’s look the same way and she’s way younger than me! }

Here are all the new Spring colors I’m having fun rotating through! Highland Fling, Morning Glory Fizz, Leprechaun Lynch and Caleigh!
