what would i do without email? i even planned my wedding via email…

Thank you to Yahoo! Mail for sponsoring this post about staying connected. I was selected for this sponsorship by the Clever Girls Collective, which endorses Blog With Integrity, as I do.

I wouldn’t know what to do with myself if I didn’t have my email to rely on. I moved halfway across the country when I was 22 and email was really the only way {for the most part} that I could keep in touch with my family back home.  Shortly after we moved my husband left for work for 6 months and the only way we kept in touch was email or a 2 minute phone call once in a while! THEN we moved even further away to quite literally the middle of nowhere.

Here’s the middle of nowhere in the winter….

And a very beautiful middle of nowhere in the summer:

It’s pretty, but it’s far away so my email and I are pretty tight 🙂

I think the moment that I really understood the power of email was when I was planning my east coast wedding from the North.  My best friends were all in different provinces and I remember writing them all the big news by email, “I’m engaged!!!” {followed by the dreaded “do you like this wedding dress??” a hundred times over until they helped me narrow it down.

I planned everything from the catering to my flowers to my hair and makeup people to buying our table cloths and chair covers via email!  With a 3 hour time difference it was almost impossible to connect with my wedding vendors by phone so email was really my only option. In the end I was actually thankful I had been in touch with everyone via email because it’s not exactly easy to keep track of the details over the phone. With email everything is there right in front of you. Sending pictures of precisely what I wanted made it feel like I was {almost} there in person and alleviated a ton of stress. Actually I just remembered – I even bought my wedding dress online via emails!!!!

Yahoo! mail now has the ability to create photo slideshows in your email. This would have been much easier than emailing dozens of  pictures of wedding and bridesmaid dresses and color swatches that need to be downloaded to view! Check it out a quick video of it here:

How many times a day do you check your email? I honestly couldn’t even tell you how many times I do!!
