Search for missing hiker ends, Cape Split, N.S.

A search for a missing 21-year-old hiker has ended.

Last evening at approximately 11:15 p.m., Kings District RCMP received a call advising that a man had gone hiking in the afternoon and had not returned.

The Valley Ground Search and Rescue and a military Cormorant helicopter from 413 Squadron Greenwood searched the area throughout the night; however the man was not located.

At approximately 9:15 this morning, searchers found the body of the missing hiker. RCMP do not suspect foul play.

RCMP would like to thank the volunteers with the Valley, Halifax and Digby Ground Search and Rescue teams for their assistance.
