Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2014 (Halifax, NS) – Lifeguard supervision and water quality testing at all municipal beaches, outdoor pools and spray pools in the Halifax region ends for the summer season on Monday, Aug. 31.

Once again, the Halifax Regional Municipality would like to thank the general public for enjoying our facilities in a responsible manner, and we encourage swimmers to exercise caution if they choose to swim in the off-season or in non-supervised areas.

The municipality would also like to thank its dedicated staff in Parks & Recreation, including the dozens of lifeguards who taught swimming lessons and worked hard to make this a safe summer for the hundreds of people who visited our beaches and outdoor pools.

Registration is now open for our fall recreation programs. With more than 50 community and recreation centres across the region, the municipality offers a variety of recreation programs to children, youth, adults and seniors all year round.
