Police are looking for a suspect after an assault in Downtown Halifax.

On 110522 at 2:00am The 21 year old female victim left a party in the 2500 block of Agricola St. The victim was approached by the male suspect who walked with her and engaged her in conversation as she walked south on Agricola St, south on North Park St and along Ahern Ave. On Ahern Ave across from Citadel high school the suspect tried to coax the victim to go up Citadel Hill with him. The victim declined and the suspect grabbed her by the hair and started to pull her up Citadel Hill. Once they were part way up the hill the suspect knocked the victim to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her. The victim was able to fight the suspect off and the suspect ran from the area.
The suspect is described as, white male, 40 years old, 5'8", clean shaven, short (almost shaved) grey hair, thin face with large bulging eyes, and he smoked.
