Shape Your Budget public engagement pop-ups begin

The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents to help shape the next municipal budget and business plan by participating in a series of public engagement pop-ups this month.

Participants will be given the opportunity to take part in the 2019 Shape Your Budget survey in person, or online. Your input regarding spending priorities will inform decisions regarding municipal service levels when developing the next budget. We’re interested in hearing from as many voices and perspectives as possible across the Halifax region.

Please join us at the following pop-ups to have your say about what’s important to you for the next municipal budget:

Cole Harbour Place | 51 Forest Hills Pkwy
Saturday, September 7 from 12-3 p.m.

Musquodoboit Harbour Public Library | 7900 Highway 7

In years previous, the Budget Allocator tool was used to gather information about how residents would like to see taxpayers dollars spent. The Shape Your Budget citizen engagement survey pilot is a new tool that will be used this year, as we continue to create opportunities for the public to better understand and provide valuable input for the municipal budget.
