Shoe Porn Monday: J. Lau’s collection (a sample of 16 pairs

L-A: J. Lau (not her real name) is one of my favourite people ever, so it makes sense that her shoe collection is one of my favourite ever. She’s an excellent travel, drinking, and shopping buddy (actually, she’s just all around excellent), but if I had to list one quibble about our friendship, it would be this: she has smaller feet than me.  Despite being taller than me, she has an 8.5 foot, while I have a 10.  This is a bit heartbreaking as it means I can never ever borrow a pair of her shoes.  I’m forced to just admire her shoes.

J was not able to share her entire shoe collection with us. I’m not sure how many pairs she has. I’m not sure if she’s ever counted. The problem with sharing her entire collection was that we would have to round up all her office shoes and find a way to photograph her extensive boot collection (she is maybe addicted to buying boots).  Boots are hard to photograph.  But she did take pics of some of her favourites.

Reaction - Kenneth Cole from Palm Springs Reaction - Kenneth Cole, Comfort Zone, Halifax (L-A: since I can't borrow them, I bought the same pair) Cole Haan Purchased on my behalf in Palm Springs by the lovely L-A. (L-A: I have a pair, but can't wear them) Ellen Tracey, Palm Springs on super sale and wore when I am in need of a little kick Coach, New York City - Purchased because the shoes I had with me were not working out so well, we walked so much! Ralph Lauren, Halifax Michael Kors - Also purchased on my behalf in Palm Spring by the lovely LA. (L-A: I still regret not buying a pair for myself) Nine West, Phoenix - Clearly in need of a good cleaning but I love these shoes! Nine West - Purchased twice, one pair from Palm Springs which mysteriously disappeared from my office but with a stroke of luck I found them on Ebay!  I love these shoes!  And I love that I randomly get compliments from the fashionable senior ladies whenever I wear them. Aldo, Hali Token black pump for everyday wear VSO, Halifax  Stuart Weitzman, Palm Springs - these were the deal/steal of the century and are super comfy Banana Republic, Toronto - BR in Hali should really carry shoes! Azaleia, Halifax Aldo, Quebec - these were last summer's staple, might need to upgrade soon Coach, NYC my current spring staple, great everyday walking shoes that still look good at work

Ally: I don’t think I have ever been so tired. I now understand why Lady Gaga does not wear pants, she’s too tired to put them on. This has been the case for me for the last two hours. I don’t feel that sorry for my neighbours, they’ve been through worse. Particularly the two weeks last summer where it was 30 plus and I was over nine months pregnant. Clothes were simply not an option. I lived in the basement those weeks, going upstairs occasionally to grab a carton of ice cream/glass of water. When I passed the window in our stairwell, I would often see our next-door-neighbour and wave to him happily before realizing that he may fear naked whales who can wave. He’s never looked at me the same since.

There is no point to this story, I wish there was. It’s the only thing coming to mind at this moment, and I thought I would share.

P.S. I love all of the shoes and I am an 8.5. Must bring J-Lau cake and wine(s).

P.P.S. I’ve also noted that many of our porn stars have submitted Nine West shoes. I think every woman shown own at least one pair of Nine West.
