Shooting in Burnside, suspects car found burned out

At about 8:00 pm Halifax Regional Police responded to a report of gunshots in the area of 121 Ilsley Avenue in Dartmouth. Upon arrival officers located a red SUV vehicle which had struck a cement barrier and appeared to have been involved in a motor vehicle collision. Several spent casings were located on the ground near the vehicle as well as a firearm. A bumper from a second vehicle was also at the scene.  A short time later a 31 year old male arrived at the QE2 Health Science Centre suffering for a gunshot wound. The male was treated for non life threatening injuries but at this time is not cooperating with investigators.
A 39 year old male was arrested in the area of the shooting and was transported to Police Headquarters where he questioned regarding the incident. The male was uncooperative with police, but remains in custody on unrelated criminal charges. 
 
At 10:28 pm police responded to a reported vehicle on fire in the area of 1138 Old Sambro Road. Officers determined the vehicle was the one that fled the area of the shooting in Dartmouth. Investigators are continuing to follow all leads.
