Shots fired in East Preston, RCMP investigating

The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division is currently seeking information regarding an incident where shots were fired at a residence in East Preston.

On the morning of December 9, around 9 a.m., Halifax District RCMP were alerted to a shooting at a home on Hwy. 7, near Upper Governor St. Upon arrival, officers were informed by a 67-year-old man from East Preston that he had heard gunshots at around 8 a.m. Subsequently, he discovered damage to his home’s exterior that appeared to be bullet holes, along with unfired bullets and empty casings.

There were no injuries reported from this incident.

The investigation into this matter is actively underway, led by the General Investigative Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division and supported by the RCMP Forensic Identification Section. Current evidence suggests that this was not a random act.
