Slow Cooker Success!

We had the Chicken Tortilla Soup for Supper and it was a hit!  This recipe is definitely a keeper.  Topped with shredded old cheddar & green onions.

Spicy and sooo delicious!

Served up with a side of baked Tostitos scoops.  These were perfect with the soup, you could actually scoop it up! Mmm mmm!

The chocobrans were a success as well.  I forgot to take a picture… we sorta had a busy afternoon so it’s not my fault.  More renovations……

This is the living room before:

We ripped up the carpet and there’s a really gross layer of blue foam.  It felt absolutely disgusting. *shudders*

And, no wonder so many people have allergies with carpet.  All that grey stuff that looks like sand is DUST. I couldn’t believe it and yes, before you ask, we do vacuum on a regular basis. ;)  Isn’t that gross though?

We now have the delightful task of prying up and then pulling out all the staples that were used to get the blue foam attached to the wood.  Fun right…there’s only about a million of them.  Have a feeling it’s going to be a late night as we need to get it all done before tomorrow.  My parents are coming over bright and early to deliver saws/tools etc and help us lay the new flooring.

We’re on a coffee/tv break now so I thought I’d take the chance to blog and see what everyone else is up to.   I’m off but I’ll be back tomorrow to show you our new floors!! 🙂

PS.  No run to report because I was busy all day inside but I will get out before the weekend is over.
