St. Peters RCMP have laid charges against an ATV driver after an investigation into a hit and run incident on December 29th, 2014 near L’Ardoise.

Yesterday, Richmond County RCMP charged Evan Michael Harker, 27, of L’Ardoise with several offences.

At the time of the incident, a property owner approached the accused who was driving a ‘side by side’ ATV to tell him that the vehicle was on private property. RCMP and EHS responded to the incident after the man called 911. The man was transported to the Strait Richmond Hospital by EHS with non-life threatening injuries. He was treated and released.

On January 8th, 2015, the accused turned himself in to the RCMP. He was arrested and questioned about the incident. Evan Michael Harker is now facing the following charges: Dangerous Driving Causing Bodily Harm, Assault With a Weapon and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. He was released from custody on strict conditions and will be appearing in Port Hawkesbury Provincial Court on March 4th, 2015 to enter a plea. The investigation is continuing.
