Members of the Patrol Division and General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating an assault with a weapon that occurred this evening in Halifax.

At approximately 8:53 p.m. police responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of 5000 Block of Salter Street Halifax. Patrol members located a single victim who had been stabbed. The victim was transported to hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries.

This matter is in the early stages of the investigation and limited details are available at this time.
