Store clerk in Bedford robbed

A store clerk was shaken but not physically injured after she was robbed outside Needs Convenience in Bedford early Saturday morning.

At about 12:45 a.m. police were called to Needs Convenience at 1239 Bedford Highway. Upon arrival, officers learned that a female staff member, while taking out the garbage, had put her book bag on the ground. A man approached the female, pushed her against a garbage bin, grabbed her bag and fled the scene.

The suspect is described as a male of an unknown ethnicity, about 6-foot-2 with a medium build. At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
