At approximately 5:13 p.m., yesterday police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 200 block of Herring Cove Rd. in Halifax.  Investigators determined that there was one victim who had been stabbed. The victim, a 48-year-old man was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At 6:55 p.m. a 27-year-old man was taken into custody without incident.

Chris Brian Saccary, 27, of Halifax has been charged in relation to the below incident. He is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of aggravated assault contrary to section 268(1) of the criminal code and possession of a weapon contrary to section 88(1) of the criminal code.

Suspect in custody after an assault with a weapon

Members of the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division are investigating an assault with a weapon that occurred this evening in Halifax.

At approximately 5:13 p.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing in the 200 block of Herring Cove Rd. in Halifax. Investigators determined that there was one victim who had been stabbed. The victim, a 48-year-old-man was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At 6:55 p.m. a 27 year old male was taken into custody without incident.

This matter is in the early stages of the investigation and limited details are available at this time.
