Sussex Street & Old Sambro Road – Natural Gas Pipeline Installation

Monday, June 22, 2015 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that work to extend the natural gas pipelines on Sussex Street and Old Sambro Road begins tomorrow, June 23, and will continue for the next eight weeks.

Crews will begin on Sussex Street between Kidston Road and Old Sambro Road, and then move on to Old Sambro Road between Sussex and Dentith Road. Construction will take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. daily, with no work during peak traffic hours.

There will be stop-and-go traffic while this work is underway. Crews will maintain two lanes of traffic whenever possible.

During the work on Old Sambro Road, the outbound bike lane will be closed. Cyclists and motorists are reminded to share the road and travel carefully through the construction zone.

All users should expect delays and are advised to use alternative routes, if possible. Heritage Gas and the municipality regret any inconvenience this work or the lane closure may cause.
