Taters for TaTas: Home Run Derby Tomorrow Night at Beazly

Article by Joel MacDougall

The Canadian Baseball Championship will kick off on Wednesday night when the top 10 sluggers in Canadian senior baseball display their power in the home run derby at Beazley Field at 6:30.
Regardless of the outcome, the real winner will be the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. The tournament organizing committee and the host club, the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry, have decided to open the gates to everyone who wishes to attend, asking that fans consider a cash donation to the foundation in return for what will prove to be an entertaining evening.
Organizer Alana Doucette has put in countless hours to provide a fun time for spectators. She has received sponsorship support from Tim Horton’s, Cleve’s Source for Sports, and Grandview Golf and Country Club who will provide numerous prizes for those in attendance.

Cleve’s will also provide a gift certificate for the player crowned as winner of the derby.
