Team Nova Scotia a winner

Under clear skies and cool temperatures Team Nova Scotia rose to the challenge and defeated all other provinces to win both the men’s and women’s TIMEX National Road Race Series finale championships in Scarborough, Ontario at the Metro Toronto Zoo. The race took place on Saturday, October 17, 2009.

Women’s team member Denise Robson came in first in 34 minutes 8 seconds. Next were Caroline McInnes (39:08), Linda MacDonald (39:08) and Rayleen Hill (38:55).

Winning Men’s team members were Toby Hennigar (32:33), Rami Bardeesy (33:20), Rob Jewer (32:44) and Nick Bride (35:10).

The 13 member team also won 11 Race and Age Class awards:

Rami Bardeesy: 1st place Master male 33:20.
Toby Hennigar: 3rd place 20–24 age class open male 32:33. Dave Nevitt: 2nd male 50-54 39:56.
Denise Robson: 1st place Master female 34:58. 3rd place women’s overall, Timex women’s 2nd place.
Connie Mister: 1st place female 55–59, 51:06.
Linda MacDonald, 3rd place female Master, 39:08.
Robin Meister, 2nd place male 55-59, 39:34.
Susan MacDonald, 1st place female 50–54, 43:14.
Rayleen Hill, 3rd place female 30–34, 38:55.
Caroline McInnes, 4th place female 25–29, 39:08.
Robert Jewer, 5th place male 30-34, 32:44.
Laura Kenny, PB, 53:55.
