the basic body shop natural bath & body products review & giveaway

Lisa Kurtz is the stylish, green mama behind The Basic Shop. Lisa’s company is your stop shop for pure and natural bath and body products made with organic ingredients like beeswax, essential oils, fruit oils, herbs, organic cotton and bamboo. Her collection of scrumptiously soft baby, kids and adult apparel are all made with nature’s basics. No itchy, scratchy materials, no harmful chemicals and no toxic dyes.
The Basic Shop stocks a really unique collection of eco-friendly brands we love to use and also products from small businesses that create their items with local and natural resources. Categories include: Body, Bath, Apparel, Kids, Eco Sets, Gift Sets and a sales area where you’ll find savings of up to 50% off!
For review, we received a few products from The Basic Shop. Ethan had the pleasure of testing out a super soft, stretchy onesie made of organic cotton with a cute little print of a giraffe on the front.  The giraffe was actually illustrated by Lisa’s daughter, 9 year old artist, Greta!! You’ll never believe it, but this is Ethan in size 12-18months. He’s one chunky monkey right now weighing 18lbs at just 5 months old. The onesie has room for him to grow, and like his big brother Aidan, even though this size fits him now, he’ll still be able to wear it when he’s over a year old once he thins out and looses some of the baby fat. The onesie gets softer with every wash and the black illutration on the front hasn’t faded at all.

Another product Ethan received is a sock monkey made with organic cotton socks! He’s completely hand made in the USA and stuffed with post-industrial polyester fiber from mill scraps! This cuddly little guy is about 9″ tall, has two-toned arms, sewn-on faces and even slightly mischievous little smiles! Plus, Maggie’s Organics Sock Monkeys are easy to clean. Just wash in warm water with mild detergent and tumble dry on low. Perfect for my drooly baby who loves to chew on everything right now!

For this mama, I received a Green Chick tee in bright green. Unfortunately, the tee was too roomy for me, so I’m passing it onto my mom and she’s going to love it! It’s made with super soft combed 100% organic cotton and the chickie print on the front is completely toxin free. No PVS, phthalates or solvents and completely sustainable The formula used for the ink is chemical free and will not crack over time!
I was very pleased with Lisa’s customer service and easy to navigate website. Her shop has all the “basics” but it’s far from boring! You’ll find such a unique collection of products at really great prices. You’ll also be happy to know that shipping to the US and Canada is a flat rate of $6.99 and if you spend just $50, you’ll receive free shipping!
One lucky reader is going to receive a Gift Set from The Basic Shop that includes:
  • For Baby: a stuffed animal {sheep or sock monkey} and Organic Cotton Onesie
  • For Mommie: Pure Certified Organic Shea Butter and also add an Organic Cotton All Natural Chick Tee
