bebe au lait chic nursing cover review & giveaway

A Bebe Au Lait Nursing Cover is what modern breastfeeding mommies on the go need. Don’t get me wrong – there is nothing more beautiful than seeing a mother breastfeeding her child, but in reality those moments of perfectly latched babies that are sleepy, still and nestled comfortably in your arms don’t last long. Fast forward a few months down the road and you’ve got a wiggly worm who’s kicking, pulling, popping off and on your breast while milk is going who knows where. No matter how passionate I am about breastfeeding, this isn’t something I want to share with the world when I’m in public.
When I breastfed my first, I never had a nursing cover because I didn’t really think I had a use for it. I was at home most of the time and if we went out I’d either breastfeed openly and not worry about anyone seeing me or used a receiving blanket. Do you know what I got sick of though? The same humdrum wardrobe of nursing tops that have been washed a million times, are faded, pilled and that are hard to maneuver. I have a few nursing tops that I absolutely love, but you can only wear the same top so many times before you’re bored of it! Especially if you’ve lost your baby weight and want to go on a shopping trip for fun new stuff!
I met up with an old friend months ago who has a little guy the same age as Ethan. When it was time for her to breastfeed I was thinking….‘hmmm..how is she going to manage this wearing a sweater-dress with jeans?’ Sure enough she had a Bebe Au Lait nursing cover so she put it on, pulled up her sweater and nobody was the wiser. Genious! After I witnessed that I knew I had to get my hands on one and thankfully Bebe Au Lait had me in mind for review, so it worked out perfectly!
I never thought about using a nursing cover as a tool to wear non-maternity and non-breastfeeding friendly clothing! With my nursing cover, I can wear whatever top I want! As you can see in the picture above, the nursing cover is roomy and can pretty much wrap around my upper body. You’d never guess {even from the side} that I have my top hiked up to nurse my baby.
These nursing covers are made of lightweight cotton, features an adjustable D-ring neck strap, a terrycloth pocket to contain baby’s pacifier or clean up little messes and the most important feature is the rigid neckline that keeps your baby cool and allows you to keep an eye on them!
The prints available from Bebe Au Lait are so incredibly beautiful. Mine is an exclusive print called Papillion. I love how modern and chic it is with pink, cream and brown.  If girly fuchsia isn’t your style I promise you’ll find a print you love! If you prefer solids, Bebe Au Lait released the Simple Organic collection of solid colors in organic cotton.
And take a peak at the lovely packaging ready for gift-giving! Available here for $35, this is the perfect, affordable gift for the new mommies in your life!
