The Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon

The Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon has a variety of events for all fitness levels – walkers or runners. From the 4.2k Youth run (the largest Youth run in Canada) to the 42.2k Full Marathon, there is something for everyone including a 5k, 10k and Half Marathon (21.1k).

More than just a marathon, the Blue Nose Marathon is a weekend of events promoting and celebrating healthy living and active lifestyles by people in our community for people in our community.  The event has also become an important fundraiser in with the Scotiabank Group Charity Challenge.  The Charity Challenge raised over $250,000 for charities in 2010.

Now entering its eighth year, the Scotiabank Blue Nose Marathon is going strong. It has grown every year and in 2011, expectations are that over 10,000 participants, 1,000+ volunteers, 60+ sponsors and suppliers and as many as 60 charities will embrace the Blue Nose experience.

I’m officially running the SBNM this year and I’m doing my training with Team Myles both as the Technical Blogging Coordinator and as a team member.

If you’re interested in running the Blue Nose Marathon you can register for all of the races on the website www.bluenosemarathon.com and you can also follow them on Twitter and join their Facebook group.
