Who knew that I had fans?

Yesterday I went for a kettlebell workout with Julie from Julie Mac Fitness at the new 360 Fit Gym in Dartmouth.  The gym opened their new location in November and so I hadn’t been there yet and I was really looking forward to it because from the photos I’d seen it was really nice, plus the last time I trained with Julie, she gave me a kettlebell ass kickin’.

At 360 I encountered a few things that surprised me.

1. The gym is even nicer than I thought it would be
The gym was set up very well and it had a lot more room than I thought it would have.  They look like they have a lot of great classes that I’d like to try in there like bootcamps and TRX.

2. Julie has some new tricks up her sleeve.
I’ve trained with Julie lots and I’ve been training pretty hard with kettlebells lately and with some great trainers, but she had some new bodyweight moves I had never seen before and would prefer to never see again.  I’ll not write what I called her after she introduced the “Evil Jump” to me (*cough* evil bitch *cough*) but she gave me a great workout.

3. I have fans
Halfway through the workout with Julie, one of her other clients that was taking her kettlebell class leans over to me and says “I don’t mean to creep you out but I really like your site”.

It didn’t creep me out at all, but I’ll admit I was caught off guard and I was quite shocked!

We continued on with our workout and once we were done and I could think straight again, we started chatting and I asked her how she found out about Your Inner Skinny.  This led to a conversation about how she loved my honesty in my posts and how she loved what I wrote… I’ll skip the rest of the what she loved, but it basically lead to me realizing that it’s no longer just my mom that reads my blog.

I’ve actually known for some time that it’s more than just my mom that reads my blog because of my Google Analytics but I think this is the first time it’s actually sunk in and it’s the first time I’ve realized that I have “fans”.  I have to admit it’s pretty humbling and pretty exciting at the same time.  It also makes me want to improve the site and keep improving it with every post and every update.

Here’s to hoping I don’t disappoint my first fan.
