Three men arrested after trying to evade checkpoint, Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM), N.S.

RCMP have charged three men after trying to evade a checkpoint in Lucasville.

Last evening, around 10:00 p.m., RCMP conducted a check point at the intersection of Viscount Run and Bryanston Rd.

Recently, there has been an increase in Break and Enters into homes under construction in the area. A vehicle approached the checkpoint and attempted to evade police. As police followed, officers observed the occupants throw out a duffle bag that contained various tools such as pry bars, bolt cutters, and other items believed to be used for committing break and enters. Three males were arrested after police conducted a traffic stop.

The three men, 18, 21 and 45, were released from police custody and will be appearing in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.

The investigation into the break and enters remains under investigation.
