At 246pm, a 72 year old male driver of a mid sized car, accompanied by an adult female passenger, crossed Herring Cove Rd on Williams Lake Rd on a green light. A 63-year-old male driver of a Ford Ranger, driving in bound on the Herring Cove Rd., drove through the red light striking the front end of the car causing the Ranger to flip over on its roof. All parties went to hospital as a precaution. It is not believed anyone sustained serious injuries. Traffic was diverted for a short period until the damaged vehicles were cleared from the intersection. The driver of the Ranger was issued a Summary Offence ticket for going through the red light.
