Ticket issued after MVA on Herring Cove Rd

At 246pm, a 72 year old male driver of a mid sized car, acco­mpanied by an adult female passenger, cr­ossed Herring Cove Rd on Williams Lake Rd on a green light. A 63-year-old male driver of a Ford Rang­er, driving in bound on the Herring Cove Rd., drove through the red light striki­ng the front end of the car causing the Ranger to flip over on its roof. All par­ties went to hospital as a precaution. It is not believed an­yone sustained serio­us injuries. Traffic was diverted for a short period until the damaged vehicles were cleared from the intersection.  The driver of the Ranger was issued a Summa­ry Offence ticket for going through the red light.
