Timberlea man facing drug and weapons charges

At approximately 10:20 p.m. last night, officers with the Drug Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at a house on James St.  Police seized approximately 2.6 pounds of marijuana, a quantity of cash and drug paraphernalia. In addition, a 12-guage shotgun and ammunition were also seized. 

 

As a result of the search, a 72-year-old Timberlea man was arrested at the home and is currently being held in custody. He will appear in Halifax Provincial Court today and is facing the following charges:

 

-Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking Marihuana

-Trafficking Marijuana

-Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

-Unsafe Storage of a Firearm

 

The investigation is ongoing.
