Tire Slashing Spree In Sobeys Parking Lot

Three youths are charged with property damage and weapons related offenses after a number of vehicles had their tires slashed last evening.

From Halifax Police:

“Units were called to the Sobeys on Portland Street just before 7pm yesterday after witnesses observed three youths slashing tires in the parking lot. Further investigation revealed that eight vehicles in total had sustained damage (slashed tires).

The suspects, two females, 14 and 16 years old and a 14 year old male, were arrested at 8pm in the immediate area.

All three face 8 counts of mischief. In addition, the 14 year old female has been charged with breach of an undertaking, possession of a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.

The 14 year old male also faces charges of possession of a weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.

All three will appear in youth court later today.”
